Halloween Hootie Owl

There is something about FALL that just gives me the itch to craft! And even though I had a crazy busy week, I made the time to Relieve my Itch!

I went to my craft stash and pulled out some Scrap Paper, a Wooden Plaque, and of course some Mod Podge

And here is what I put together:

I have to admit,

This little owl, came together better than I imagined in my head!!!

And, it was quite simple to make!

To Start I took a 9×12 plaque

And painted it black

While it was drying, I got out some of my Scrap Paper, Circle Punches, and Scissors.

From there I cut out some basic shapes to create my owl

Once my paint was dry, I started to put my owl together by arranging them on my plaque:

To create the Owl’s body I took some medium circles and arranged them in an oval shape

And then overlapped them to fill it in. Once I knew how I wanted to put it together, I took all of my pieces off the board and got out my Mod Podge

For this project I used the Antique Matte Mod Podge

I knew this would give my Owl the perfect aged finish!

I poured the Mod Podge right into a bottle with a roller brush attached and just rolled it right onto my board to get nice even coverage.

Then, while it was still wet, I started arranging all my shapes back on the board to Create my Owl.

For this step you will want to work quickly.

Once the first coat of Mod Podge is dry and all pieces are attached,

Apply one last coat over the top of your owl.

And allow to dry for at least an hour.

Once dry, I hung mine with some cute coordinating ribbon.

I just LOVE how this little owl turned out!

I wrote this post as part of a paid campaign with Mod Podge and Blueprint Social. The opinions in this post are my own.
